Professor Peter James Murphy Appointed Director of Public Relations of the New Westminster College of Caucasus University

 

TBILISI, GEORGIA. The Office of the President of Caucasus University has announced that Professor Peter James Murphy was officially appointed today as Director of Public Relations of New Westminster College of Caucasus University with a concurrent appointment as Professor of Public Relations.

 

Professor Peter James Murphy is a Professor of Public Relations and Distinguished Fellow of the New Westminster College of Caucasus University. He previously served as Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of New Westminster College from 2013 to 2017 before it became a constituent college of Caucasus University on November 1, 2017.

 

Professor Murphy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Rotman Business School at the University of Toronto. He has been a lecturer at Ogelthorpe University and the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University, and is a member of the Alumni Board of the Rotman Business School at the University of Toronto.

 

Professor Murphy has an outstanding record of ethical leadership. He was previously commissioned by the Head of the Governing Body of the Trust Industry of Canada to analyze the commonalities and differences between the various trust companies operating in Canada, and was also commissioned by the President of Canada Trust to lead a team to analyze the internal operations of Canada Trust. His recommendations for the development of competitive marketing received management support contributed to Canada Trust being acquired by the Toronto Dominion Bank. He successfully negotiated the sale of the Master Licensing Rights for Country Hearth Inn and Suites in India and has contributed to the final negotiations for the Master Licensing Rights for Country Hearth Inn and Suites in China for mutual property investments for the United States based parent company.

 

Professor Murphy has been appointed to numerous private boards of director with other leading executives in both the manufacturing and financial services sectors. He recently served as Trade Ambassador to the State of Georgia for the Province of Ontario, an appointment initiated by the Minister of Economic Trade and Development of Ontario.
