Jean Monnet Project “LFEU” EU LAW Training in Batumi

On July 8, Caucasus University/CU carried out the second part of the EU law trainings within the framework of the Jean Monnet Project “Legal Face of the EU”/LFEU, in Batumi City of the Adjara A/R (Hotel Sheraton).

 

The aim of the EU law training in Batumi was to raise the awareness in the region related to the EU, Association Agreement, Europeanization of Georgian law, as well to export the university knowledge to broad society, professional and academic world.  

 

On July 8, the training  was opened by CU professor and Jean Monnet project coordinator Ms. Sophio Shengelia.

 

The training was attended by 80 persons – representatives of different sectors in the region, namely, Adjara A/R government administration, Batumi City municipality, Academia and students of the regional universities, regional NGOs, different private companies.   

 

The topics of the training on July 8 was the following:  

 

 

  • State Procurement Regulation in the EU and Georgia (CU Affiliated Associated Professor Levan Mosakhlishvili)
  • Regulation of Cartels and State Aid in the EU and Georgia – Competition Policy (CU Associated Professor Solomon Menabdishvili).

 

 

Training participants had the opportunity to express their own views about trainings, ask questions. The time was also devoted to summarizing the training.  

 

On July 8, at the end of the training, the participants were given a certificate of participation in the training on July 7-8.

 

Organization of the training was ensured by the assistants of the project coordinator, CU training center representatives (Maia MUSHKUDIANI, Tamar GOGALADZE). 

 

CU International Relations and Project Department was involved in event planning, coordination and communication (Director - Irena MELUA, Projects Manager - Tamar KARBAIA).
