Public lecture - "The application of the European Convention on Human Rights during armed conflict: Russia's war in Ukraine"

On December 7, Natia Kalandarishvili-Muller - full professor of international law at Alte University, expert in international humanitarian law, guest of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, visited the Caucasus University School of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the initiative of Professor Guranda Chelidze, the head of the European studies undergraduate educational program.

 

It should be noted that the undergraduate educational program of European studies is interdisciplinary.  This time, students program had the opportunity to respond to the days of human rights law and listen to a lecture on the topic "The application of the European Convention on Human Rights during armed conflict: Russia's war in Ukraine". 

 

The invited professor spoke about the actions and importance of international law in the Russian war against Ukraine, focusing on the values ​​of the European Convention on Human Rights, taking into account the context of the war.  The event was held in cooperation with the Caucasus School of Law, the lecture was also attended by students from the law school who were interested in the issue.

 

At the end of the talk, a discussion was held, students received answers to current and important issues.
