Presentation of the double degree 3-year undergraduate program in Cyber Security

On May 28, the presentation of the first 3-year double degree cyber security undergraduate program, conducted by Caucasus University in partnership with New Jersey City University, was held at the Caucasus University Conference Hall.

 

The event was held in two stages:

 

I - Presentation of the double degree 3-year undergraduate program in cyber security

 

The invited guests at the event were: Nino Tsereteli, Head of the Higher Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia; representatives of New Jersey City University and partner organizations, as well as principals of private and public schools and administration representatives.

 

The meeting was chaired by: Marvin Walker - Dean of the College of Professional Studies, New Jersey City University, Maxim Iavich - Head of the Cyber ​​Security Center at Caucasus University, and Shota Nizharadze - Dean of the Caucasus School of Technology.

 

The audience listened to speeches by: Dr. Kakha Shengelia - President of Caucasus University, Sue Henderson - President of New Jersey City University, Tamara Jhashi - Rector and Senior Vice President of New Jersey City University and Tamara Cunningham - Associate Vice President of New Jersey City University.

 

The event discussed the Double Degree Cybersecurity Education Program and the Cyber ​​Security Center Action Plan, as well as detailed information about the partner university and student life. The event was held in an interactive mode, the attending audience had the opportunity to receive comprehensive answers to questions of interest to them.

 

II - Signing a memorandum with organizations

 

Within the framework of the event, memorandums of cooperation were signed with scientific and professional organizations and agencies in the field of cyber security. These organizations include the Scientific Cyber ​​Security Association, the Cyber ​​Security Education and Research Center, the Internet Development Initiative, the Information Systems Security Association, and the Digital Governance Agency.

 

The double degree program of Caucasus University and New Jersey City University is the first in Georgia. It allows entrants to study for only 3 years at the undergraduate level and obtain a diploma from two universities, study abroad at a leading American university, and receive knowledge from international and Georgian professors of international level.

 

New Jersey City University, based in New Jersey, USA, is one of the few institutions in the country to have federal rights in both cybersecurity and intelligence, and its cyber defense program has been named the National Center for Academic Arts in Cyber ​​Defense Education (CAE). CDE).
