Qualification Requirements
- a) Professor
A Professor is appointed for a seven-year term. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree, or an equivalent academic qualification, in the relevant field and have at least six years of academic teaching and research experience.
- b) Associate Professor
An Associate Professor is appointed for a seven-year term. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree, or an equivalent academic qualification, in the relevant field and have at least three years of academic teaching and research experience.
- c) Assistant Professor
An Assistant Professor is appointed for a four-year term. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree, or an equivalent academic qualification, in the relevant field.
Additional Requirement
For teaching on English-medium programs, candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency at no lower than B2 level.
A suitably qualified professional may also be appointed to the position of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor on the basis of professional qualifications. In such cases, the candidate’s qualifications may be demonstrated through relevant professional experience, specialized training, and/or publications. A candidate is considered suitably qualified if they possess the competencies required to achieve the learning outcomes defined by the respective academic program.

Required Documents
Interested applicants must submit:
- a CV in Georgian and English, including information on teaching and research activities;
- syllabus/syllabi of the relevant course(s) in Georgian;
- a copy of an identification document;
- copies of documents confirming education, qualifications, academic degrees, and/or academic titles, including documents confirming the award of a doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, or equivalent academic degree;
- where a degree was awarded abroad, the documentation required to confirm its authenticity;
- confirmation of academic teaching and research experience, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant position;
- full information on articles, books, monographs, and other academic publications, including the title of the work, place and date of publication, number of pages, name of the publisher, and copies of the covers of the publications. For the purposes of the competition, particular importance will be given to publications produced during the past five years;
- for teaching on English-medium programs, an internationally recognized certificate confirming English proficiency. English language proficiency may also be demonstrated by a valid international certificate confirming at least B2-level proficiency and/or a document confirming completion, within the past three years, of a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program taught in English. This requirement may also be satisfied if the candidate is a citizen of a country where English is an official language.
Competition Stages
The competition will be conducted in three stages:
I Stage - Review and screening of submitted documents
II Stage - Presentation/interview
III Stage - Final evaluation and completion of the competition process

- Application period: November 7–16, 2026
- Competition period: November–December 2026
- Venue: 1 Paata Saakadze Street, Tbilisi. In certain cases, depending on the specifics of the competition, the process may be conducted remotely.
- Publication of competition results: December 2026
