
Professor Leila Karimi is a Distinguished scientist and a PhD holder in both Biostatistics and Organisational Psychology. She currently serves as the Head of the Psychology Discipline at RMIT University and has been a Professor at Caucasus University since 2020.
With over 15 years of expertise, she is a recognized authority in applied psychology and health systems research, focusing on critical issues such as healthcare workforce wellbeing, burnout, resilience, and emotional intelligence. For her outstanding scientific contributions, Professor Karimi has received numerous national and institutional accolades, including the "Best Scientist of the Year" (2018) award from the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
Professor Karimi has a remarkable track record in securing high-impact research funding, including prestigious grants from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), the Australian Research Council (ARC), the NHMRC, and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. Her current research spearheads innovative projects on post-acute care for Long COVID, the professional integration of autistic individuals, and digital mental health monitoring.
An accredited statistician (AStat) and member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), she has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Her work is characterized by a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, translating complex psychometric data and biostatistical models into practical strategies that enhance workforce sustainability and institutional performance globally.
