Caucasus Law Journal (CLJ), an international refereed and peer-reviewed academic journal of the Caucasus University School of Law, invites submissions for its first issue.

Submission period: 25 September–6 November 2026

The Journal is published twice a year in English, in print and online. Its online edition is freely accessible. The print ISSN is 3088-4446 and the electronic ISSN is 3088-4454. The Journal is published by Caucasus University LLC. There are no submission or publication fees.

Scope

The Journal welcomes original scholarly articles that address current legal issues and offer a novel contribution. It welcomes doctrinal, practical and comparative legal research, including work examining Georgian law in relation to European and international law.

Who May Submit

Submissions are welcome from academic and visiting staff of Caucasus University; academic staff of other higher education institutions in Georgia; researchers at universities and research centres abroad; independent researchers; doctoral candidates; and legal practitioners. Articles may be submitted individually or with co-authors.

Editorial Assessment and Peer Review

The editorial office first assesses whether a manuscript complies with the Journal’s scope, editorial policy, publication ethics, citation standards and formatting requirements. A manuscript that does not meet the applicable requirements will not proceed to peer review. If technical deficiencies are identified, the author will be given a reasonable period, not exceeding seven calendar days, to correct them.

An admissible manuscript is sent anonymously to at least two reviewers under the Journal’s double-blind peer-review procedure. Turnitin is used to assist the assessment of academic integrity; its report is an auxiliary tool, and the manuscript is assessed substantively.

Copyright and Open Access

Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the Journal the right of first publication. Published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

DOI and International Visibility

The Journal is in the process of joining Crossref and plans to assign a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each published article. Its development policy also provides for the steps required to seek indexing in international academic databases.

How to Submit

Manuscripts must be written in English and comply with the Journal’s Author Guidelines.

Submit the manuscript, a completed Author Application Form and a signed Author Declaration Form through the Caucasus Law Journal online platform using an author account, or send them to csljournal@cu.edu.ge.

By submitting a manuscript through the platform or by email, the author confirms that they have read and agree to the Journal’s Regulations, publication ethics rules and Author Guidelines.

Selection

No more than 12 scholarly articles will be selected for publication in the first issue. The Editorial Board will make the final decision in light of the reviewers’ assessments and notify authors by email. Before publication, the edited article will be sent to the author for a final check.
