ABOUT PROJECT

Techpark Startup Incubator is a large-scale  initiative aimed at fostering the growth of the technology and innovation-driven startup ecosystem in Georgia. The incubator provides selected early-stage startups with focused, hands-on support to help refine their business ideas and build the essential skills needed for successful market entry and long-term development.

The project is implemented by  Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) in collaboration with Caucasus University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

Project Objectives

The primary goal of the incubator is to equip local startups with the knowledge, tools, and networks required to launch successful and sustainable businesses. By doing so, the program contributes to strengthening regional innovation potential and increasing the number of viable startups in Georgia.

Key objectives include:

  • Capacity building for early-stage startups: Providing essential knowledge, tools, and resources to support their growth.

  • Business model refinement and commercialization: Helping startups develop viable products and services for market readiness.

  • Network building: Connecting startups with local and international mentors, industry experts, and potential investors.

Program Structure

The program is divided into three main phases:

Phase I – Preparation & Startup Selection

The program begins with an open call and a competitive selection process. 36 startup teams will be selected in 9 techpark based on predetermined criteria, including innovation potential, market opportunity, team competence, and scalability.

The selection process includes application evaluation, interviews, and local context adaptation to ensure the most promising ideas are chosen.

Phase II – Incubation

Selected startups will engage in an intensive learning and mentoring program, which includes:

  •  Thematic online lectures on startup development fundamentals

  • Individual mentoring sessions  conducted onsite at technoparks

  • Onsite consultations with industry-specific experts

  • 30 hours of tailored online consulting per startup, addressing their specific needs and challenges

Phase III – Final Stage: Demo Day

The program concludes with a Demo Day held in Tbilisi. At least one startup from each technopark will present their idea and progress to investors, ecosystem stakeholders, and partner organizations. The event will provide a platform for receiving feedback, building professional connections, and exploring future growth opportunities.
