On September 18, the Regional Conference of Rectors of the Central and Eastern European Member Institutions of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) was held at the National University of Science and Technology (POLITEHNICA in Bucharest) Romania.

Caucasus University was represented at the conference by Irena Melua, Vice President for Internationalization.

The conference featured panel discussions focusing on the AUF Strategy 2026–2029, university internationalization, international university alliances, sustainable development, and the role of higher education institutions in promoting peace.

Irena Melua participated as a speaker in the panel “Regional Dialogue for Sustainable Development and Peace,” where she presented Caucasus University’s experience and initiatives aimed at advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The panel brought together representatives of universities from Türkiye, Romania, Georgia, and Ukraine, providing an opportunity to share institutional experiences and practices related to sustainable development and peacebuilding.

The conference gathered leaders and representatives of AUF member universities from across Central and Eastern Europe, providing a platform to strengthen regional university cooperation, exchange experiences, and discuss opportunities for future joint initiatives.
