Caucasus University Representatives Participate in the 34th NISPAcee Annual Conference

Representatives of Caucasus University participated in the 34th NISPAcee Annual Conference, “Governing Uncertainty: Strengthening Democracy Through Responsible Public Administration,” hosted by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

As part of the conference, Professor Eka Akobia, Dean of the School of Governance, participated in the NISPAcee Steering Committee meeting, where members discussed the organization's ongoing activities, strategic priorities, future development directions, and preparations for the next annual conference.

 

As the Immediate Past President of NISPAcee, Professor Akobia also took part in a series of working meetings with partner organizations alongside the current NISPAcee President, Professor Maja Klun of the University of Ljubljana, and Executive Secretary Ludmila Gajdosova. The meetings focused on concrete opportunities for continuing and strengthening cooperation between NISPAcee and its partner institutions.

 

Within the framework of Working Group VI, Professor Vakhtang Partsvaniya of the Caucasus School of Business presented a joint paper co-authored with Professor Erekle Pirveli of the Caucasus School of Business, entitled “Reverse Sanctions Evasion and Evidence-Based Policy Gaps.” The study examined the issue of Russian oil re-exports through Georgia, challenges related to sanctions enforcement, and the need for evidence-based policymaking in this area.
