On 17–18 September, the final international management meeting of the consortium was held in Batumi within the framework of the European Commission-funded project, “Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities.” The meeting was hosted by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

The meeting was opened by Ketevan Darakhvelidze, Chancellor of Ilia State University and Institutional Coordinator of the project. She presented the project’s main objectives and achievements, the implementation status of the work packages, and the remaining tasks.

During the meeting, Natia Nadiradze, the project’s external quality evaluator, presented the key findings of the monitoring visits and the results of the project’s preliminary evaluation. The European partners summarized their perspectives on the monitoring process and discussed opportunities for the further development of the project’s outcomes.

Representatives of Georgian and European universities worked in groups to discuss the recommendations outlined in the monitoring report and developed action plans for each institution to fulfil its remaining commitments.

Caucasus University representative Tamar Chokoraia presented a report on the dissemination activities carried out by the consortium. The partners also discussed opportunities for further developing the project website, the remaining communication and dissemination activities, the sustainability of the project’s outcomes, and prospects for future cooperation.

The main objective of the project is to improve the existing mechanisms, procedures, and services related to research ethics and integrity at Georgian universities.
