Caucasus University hosted the presentation of a new book - Making Higher Education Count: Embracing the Supermarket Model - by Dr. Kakha Shengelia, President of Caucasus University, and Dr. Fred Kasirye, management researcher and Assistant Project Director.
The event was opened by the President of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia, who welcomed the audience with opening remarks, while the presentation was led by Fred Kasirye.
The book, Making Higher Education Count: Embracing the Supermarket Model, offers a fresh perspective on higher education, shaped by Dr. Shengelia’s many years of international experience, global engagement, and extensive travel across different countries. At its core is the belief that education should create value, stand out through excellence, and contribute to the transformation of society. The “supermarket model” reflects Dr. Shengelia’s long-standing interest in reform, governance, and international cooperation.
The publication is further enriched by Dr. Kasirye’s realistic insights and practice-based reflections, which make the model more relevant and applicable to different types of institutions and students.
