Public lecture - Diplomacies of Small States

On June 11, 2025 Caucasus School of Governance hosted Dr. Ausra Park, Full Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Siena College (New York), for a public lecture titled“ Diplomacies of Small States: Women’s Representation in the Baltic States’ Foreign Services and Women Executives in Central and Eastern Europe”.

Prof. Park’s lecture addressed topics such as gender and the diplomatic and foreign policy capacities of small states, women’s representation at various levels within the foreign services of the Baltic states, and the role of female leaders in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Based on her extensive academic research, she discussed how the role and involvement of women in foreign services and executive positions have evolved since the post-Soviet period, highlighting both the achievements and the ongoing challenges in this regard. With expertise grounded in decades of scholarly work and field research, Dr. Park shared key findings from her recent and forthcoming publications.

The lecture was followed by an engaging discussion session, during which students had the opportunity to ask questions.
