Caucasus University successfully hosted the inaugural Surgical Skills Centre Workshop, bringing together medical students for an intensive, hands-on surgical training experience.
Participants worked directly with orthopedic instrumentation, anatomical bone models, and surgical simulation equipment, exploring the fundamentals of orthopedic surgery and trauma management. Students also received practical training in plastic surgery suturing techniques, tissue handling, knot tying, and wound closure principles - all performed on real biological tissue.
Designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, the workshop provided students with a unique opportunity to develop essential surgical skills in a highly interactive, small-group environment under direct surgical supervision.
A total of 17 students successfully completed the program and received official Certificates of Completion issued by Caucasus University.
We would like to thank all participants. Special thanks and appreciation to our instructors - Orthopaedic Surgery Resident | Guest Lecturer at Caucasus University Zuka Tkeshelashvili and General Surgery Resident | Assistant Surgeon in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Ketevan Kekutia.
