Visit of Representatives from Leipzig University of Applied Sciences to Caucasus University

10 November 2025

Caucasus University hosted colleagues from HTWK Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, Germany Professor Bodo Sturm from the Faculty of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering, specializing in Economics and Quantitative Methods; Ms. Xu Xiao, Incoming student mobility Coordinator and Ms. Daniela Pausch, staff member at the Student Office and Secretariat.

From Caucasus University, the guests were welcomed by representatives of the International Relations Department and by the Dean of the Caucasus School of Business, Dr. Elene Jgarkava.

The main purpose of the German colleagues’ visit was to evaluate the current cooperation between the two universities and to develop new strategies for future collaboration. Leipzig University of Applied Sciences aims to prepare a new application for a DAAD-funded summer school program together with Caucasus University. This initiative will once again offer students from the Caucasus School of Economics and Business the opportunity to participate in an intensive short-term program focused on macroeconomics and trade. As part of the new project, Caucasus University will also host one full cycle of the summer school in Tbilisi.

It is noteworthy that Caucasus University and Leipzig University of Applied Sciences have already successfully implemented a DAAD-funded summer program recently.

Leipzig University of Applied Sciences remains one of Caucasus University’s most important strategic partners in Germany. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Credit Mobility Project, student mobility from the Caucasus School of Business and the Caucasus School of Media is already being planned for the upcoming academic semester.
