Accreditation

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION

 

Caucasus University is legally authorized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as an institution of higher education authorized to provide higher educational programs of all three education stages and scientific research, including the legal authority to award bachelor, master and doctorate degrees. The New Westminster College of Caucasus University is the tenth constituent school of Caucasus University, being legally established on November 1, 2017.

 

ACCREDITATION

 

Caucasus University and its constituent schools, including the New Westminster College of Caucasus University, are accredited by the National Center for Educational Accreditation and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, which is the public authority responsible for educational quality assurance in Georgia.

 

THE BOLGNA PROCESS

 

On June 19, 1999, 29 European Ministers of Education signed a declaration in the oldest university town of Bologna. By signing the document the ministers expressed their willingness to participate in creation of a European Higher Education Area. The Bologna declaration was preceded by such documents as: Magna Chartum Universitatum (1998); Lisbon Convention (1997); and the Sorbona Declaration (1998). Presently 46 countries participate in the Bologna Process. Georgia joined the Bologna Process in 2005 at the Bergen Summit.
