The volume of the second part of the Master's educational program in Law is 60 ECTS credits, and the duration of study is 1 academic year. One ECTS credit equals 25 hours and includes both the contact load of the master's student (lecture, seminar, practicum, etc.) and the time allocated for independent work.

The second 60-credit part of the program includes the competencies developed in the first part and focuses on the development of in-depth theoretical and analytical knowledge, strengthening research competencies, and the independent analysis and resolution of complex legal problems. It includes the development of research methodology and academic writing, further deepening of specialization, as well as a research component - a master's thesis (30 ECTS credits), which is based on independent research and meets the standards of academic integrity.

After the standard duration of the second part of the program (one year) expires, the master's student has the right to continue studying for the purpose of completing the educational program for an additional period, not exceeding 4 semesters (two academic years), while maintaining student status.

The prerequisite for enrollment in the second part of the master's program in law is:

• Completion of the I part of the program.
• Passing the B2 level English exam prepared by Caucasus University. (An individual may be exempted from this requirement if there is a document confirming language proficiency (IELTS-6.0; TOEFL-78; other relevant international certificates at B2 level or other circumstances established by university regulations)).
• Successfully passing the interview with the Master's Admission Committee of the Caucasus School of Law at Caucasus University.

After completing the first part of the program, an individual is entitled to continue studying the second part of the program, which consists of 60 credits, without taking the master's exams, provided that no more than 5 years have passed since enrollment in the first part. After this period, in order to enroll in the second part of the program consisting of 60 credits, the individual is required to pass the master's exam. After completing the first part of the same master's educational program with at least 120 credits from another higher education institution, the individual is required to pass the master's exam in order to enroll in the second part of the program.

An interview will be conducted with field specialists for those wishing to obtain a CU grant. (See Evaluation criteria)

Required documentation:

1. Identity verification document (passport) and its copy;
2. Certified copy of the diploma confirming a bachelor's degree in law or an equivalent academic degree and its annex;
3. Reference from one recommender;
4. Two photos sized 3X4 (printed and digital version on CD)
5. Copy of the military service certificate or military ticket (for military obligations);
6. A copy of the certificate confirming the completion of the general master's exams from the National Center for Examinations (if available), or a transcript of the scores obtained by the master's candidate on the master's exams from the National Center for Examinations website (www.naec.ge).
7. A motivational letter regarding the study program.
8. Resume - CV (in Georgian).
9. Presentation of an international certificate confirming proficiency in English at the B2 level. In the absence of a certificate, the university will provide an assessment of knowledge at the B2 level of the specified language through an internal test. The corresponding language competence will be equated to the presentation of a document confirming the bachelor's or master's academic degree obtained abroad (if completed in the program's specified language);

• The deadline for receiving documents - September 2026, room A2;
• The exam in the specialization for those wishing to obtain the CU grant will be held - September 2026;

Payment Terms

The tuition fee is paid per semester, according to the credits taken.
