Caucasus University Wins Young Scientists Grant from the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation

Caucasus University has been awarded funding through the Young Scientists Research Grant Competition announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.

 

The university’s research project, “Assessment of Preparedness and Resilience to Crises and Disasters in Medical Organizations of Georgia’s Border Regions,” was selected for funding among 134 submitted proposals, earning a place on the list of winning projects.

Project Overview

 

The project aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment of crisis and disaster preparedness and resilience of medical organizations operating in Georgia’s border regions. The research will analyze existing systemic mechanisms, strategic frameworks, institutional coordination, and resource management practices in order to identify key challenges that hinder the healthcare system’s effective and timely response to emergency situations.

 

The recommendations developed through the study will support:

 

  • Strengthening the capacities of both public and private healthcare sectors
  • Improving advance planning and preparedness
  • Enhancing the efficiency of resource mobilization under conditions of multiple risks and threats

 

Expected Outcomes

 

The findings of the two-year research project will be published in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal. In addition, a practice-oriented analytical policy brief will be prepared for policymakers and healthcare administrators.

This research will make a significant contribution to assessing and strengthening the capacities of medical institutions in Georgia’s border regions—an area of critical importance for national security and public health resilience.
