On 1 October, at 13:00, a Community Action on “Strengthening Intercultural Relations in High-Mountain and Multicultural Rural Schools” will be held at the Public School of Arsarmani Village, Tsalka Municipality, within the framework of the PROVE project - Promoting Values Education in Higher Education Institutions in the South Caucasus.

The Community Action will bring together students and teachers from the public schools of Arsarmani and Sabechisi villages in Tsalka Municipality, as well as representatives of the local community.

During the meeting, participants will discuss the importance of intercultural relations in high-mountain and multicultural rural schools. The activity will promote a better understanding of different cultures and traditions, encourage reflection on and reduction of existing stereotypes, and strengthen mutual respect and acceptance.

Participants will engage in interactive activities and group work aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation, as well as fostering a peaceful and inclusive school environment.

As part of the meeting, participants will create a Multicultural Corner in a shared school/community space. The corner will feature items and cultural artifacts representing different cultural traditions, information cards, and messages of peace.

The activity will be facilitated by students and mentors from the School of Education at Caucasus University involved in the project.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project is a strategic initiative developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) programme. It focuses on peace education and is based on the Values and Knowledge Education (VaKE) approach.

The project is implemented through cooperation among organisations and universities from Austria, Georgia, and Armenia. VaKE is an innovative educational approach that combines values-based learning with research-oriented learning.
