Certificate Course: “Fundamentals of Sustainable Tourism and Service Design”

The Green Tourism Hub announces registration for the certificate course “Fundamentals of Sustainable Tourism and Service Design.”

 

This training is free of charge and will be delivered at the Caucasus University Green Tourism Hub within the framework of the ENRICHER-HUBS Erasmus+ project.

 

Course Duration:

 

15 hours

Dates: 1–6 December (three hours per day)

 

Course Overview:

 

The course is designed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in sustainable tourism and service design.

 

Upon completion, participants will be able to plan, design, and implement innovative, customer-oriented, and environmentally sustainable tourism products and services.

 

Key Topics Include:

 

Principles of sustainable tourism and global standards (UNWTO, GSTC)

Tourism value chain and destination management (DMO)

Customer journey mapping

Fundamentals of service design and innovative approaches

Application of the Business Model Canvas

Prototyping sustainable tourism services

Teaching Format

 

The course combines interactive workshops, team-based activities, presentations, and hands-on practical exercises.

At the final session, participants will present a sustainable tourism service design concept and receive a certificate of completion.

Trainers:

 

Nato Robitashvili – Program Manager at the Georgian Ecotourism Association and Assistant Professor at Caucasus University.

 

She is the Program Manager at the Georgian Ecotourism Association and an Assistant Professor at Caucasus University. She has more than 15 years of experience in eco- and community-based tourism. She has been directly involved in developing numerous community-based and ecotourism products across various regions of Georgia, aimed at promoting ecotourism and fostering local economic development through innovative tourism opportunities.

 

Giorgi Bregadze, Ph.D. – Professor at Caucasus University.

 

Giorgi Bregadze is a tourism economics specialist and Professor at Caucasus University. He leads the joint Bachelor’s program in Tourism in partnership with Fairleigh Dickinson University and has extensive experience in academia, as well as in the public and consulting sectors. Previously, he served as Head of the Research and Planning Department of the Georgian National Tourism Administration and as Vice-Chair of the Statistics Committee of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). He actively participates in international programs and projects (EU, USAID, Erasmus+) aimed at strengthening tourism economics and policy, statistics, innovation, and sustainable development. He regularly conducts trainings and seminars for professionals in the tourism and hospitality industries.

 

Nino Tigishvili – Assistant Professor at Caucasus University.

 

Nino Tigishvili is an Assistant Professor at Caucasus University, where she teaches ecotourism and agritourism courses. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She is a Project and Events Manager at the Ecotourism Association with seven years of professional experience in sustainable tourism, youth engagement, and socio-economic development. She works with both local and international organizations, including the United Nations, Mercy Corps, CENN, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the International Republican Institute (IRI), and others. Nino is also the founder of the ecotourism space “Tigi’s Home.”

 

Presentation of Issue 9 (1) of the International Peer-Reviewed Journal Health Policy, Economics and Sociology.

 

On 18 November, the presentation of Issue 9 (1) of the international peer-reviewed scientific journal Health Policy, Economics and Sociology took place in the conference hall of the Caucasus University Library.

 

The journal is published on the Open Journal Systems platform, enabling interested readers to access all articles directly through the journal’s website.

 

The new issue was introduced by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Professor Tengiz Verulava, Doctor of Medicine at Caucasus University.

 

The journal is bilingual and indexed in leading international scientific databases, including EBSCO, ERIH PLUS, Google Scholar, and Index Copernicus. Each article is assigned a unique DOI through Crossref.

 

Publication in the journal is recognized as part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) process, and authors receive the respective credit points.
