On 18 November at 19:00, Caucasus University will host the presentation of the 9th issue (1) of its peer-reviewed international scientific journal Health Policy, Economics and Sociology. The event will take place at Caucasus University Library.

Public Lecture – “Georgia on Old European Maps”
Caucasus University recently hosted a public lecture and discussion delivered by Sulkhan Saladze, co-founder and director of Mappa Cartographica. The event was organized by the International Center for Georgian Studies and focused on the topic “Georgia on Old European Maps.”
The lecture explored a wide range of cartographic and historical themes, including:
- References to Georgia across various European maps
- Peculiarities of Georgia’s depiction on maps with classical or antique themes
- Portolan charts and the origins of the Georgian five-cross flag
- Contributions of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani and Prince Vakhushti to the development of European cartography
- The “birth certificate” of the name Georgia and the evolution from the term Georgia to the broader concept of the Caucasus
