The Research Facilitation Department of Caucasus University is pleased to announce a two-hour training session on “Ethical Issues in Research Projects,” which will be held on July 9, 2026 at Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia.
The training is intended for academic staff, academic and clinical researchers, and doctoral students who are currently involved in, or planning to undertake, research projects involving human participants.
The aim of the session is to help participants better address ethical considerations during the research planning stage, assess the ethical risks associated with their own research projects, and avoid common shortcomings that may result in delays in the review process by the University Ethics Council or requests for additional revisions.
The training will cover the following topics: the role of the Research Ethics Council, ethical principles in research, preliminary risk assessment, voluntary participation, informed consent, data protection issues, justification of ethical decisions.
The training will be delivered by Dr. Maia Machavariani, Associate Professor at Caucasus University, Clinical Neuropsychologist, and academic staff member.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a digital certificate of attendance. In addition, an informal networking session will be held at the end of the meeting, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss future collaboration.
