Caucasus University School of Governance (CSG) invites you to participate in a two-day workshop - “European Values and Ideologies” on June 5-6, at 11:00. The workshop is held within the framework of the European Commission’s “Jean Monnet Module”.
During the workshop, Giorgi Tskhadaia, Professor of Political Science at CSG, will introduce the participants to the origin and development of leading European ideologies and their basic principles. The workshop will focus on such mainstream European ideologies as: Christian Democracy, Social Democracy, Liberalism and Environmentalism; it will address both the national and common European dimensions of these ideologies at the EU level.
Additionally, we will discuss the origins and growing popularity of right-wing and left-wing populism in Europe; we will also touch on the ideological similarities and differences between Western European and Eastern European populist parties and movements.
Students of Georgian universities, as well as others interested in the topic, are welcome to participate.
The workshop will be held at the conference hall of Caucasus University, on June 5-6, from 11:00 to 16:00. A coffee break is included in the event.
At the end of the event, all participants will be awarded a certificate of participation.
