Creative Admission Round for the Interior Design Program

The creative admission round for applicants to the Bachelor’s Program in Interior Design at Caucasus University consists of three stages:

 

  • Registration
  • Electronic submission of creative work
  • Interview

 

Applicants are required to prepare a visualization on the theme “The Interior Concept of the Future” using any preferred technique, including hand-drawn formats such as drawings, sketches, or collages.

 

The task is to present an original vision of what the interior of a residential or public space may look like in the future.

 

Applicants must complete electronic registration and submit a photo or electronic version of their independently created work to the following email address: csa@cu.edu.ge 

 

Works completed in groups or with external assistance will not be considered or evaluated.

 

Important Dates and Information:

 

  • Submission period for creative works: May 15 – May 30
  • The exact date and time of the interview will be communicated individually
  • Applicants are evaluated on a 100-point scale
  • Registration deadline: May 15

 

During the interview, applicants will present and discuss their submitted work. The purpose of the discussion is to verify the authenticity of the project. The selection committee may also request that applicants complete an additional task on site using available materials. Applicants must bring the original hand-drawn version of their work to the interview.

 

Please note that works completed in groups or with external assistance will not be considered or evaluated.

 

Assessment Criteria

 

  • Visual quality, aesthetics, and creativity – 25 points
    The extent to which the work is visually engaging, aesthetically refined, and creatively developed.
  • Concept, research, and content – 25 points
    The clarity and coherence of the idea, the depth of research, and the conceptual strength of the project.
  • Technical execution of drawings and visual materials – 25 points
    The accuracy, neatness, and professional quality of drawings, plans, and other visual components.
  • Presentation skills – 25 points
    The ability to present the work clearly, confidently, and effectively.

 

Total: 100 points

 

Presentation Requirements (5 slides):

 

  • Slide 1 – Research, concept, and future vision
  • Slide 2 – Moodboard and sources of inspiration
  • Slide 3 – Visual references and examples
  • Slide 4 – Sketches of future furniture (minimum three)
  • Slide 5 – A collage-based scene illustrating the “Interior of the Future”

 

If the selection committee detects plagiarism or evidence that the work was completed with external assistance, the applicant will receive 0 points.

 

The final score is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the evaluations provided by the members of the selection committee.

 

The creative round is considered successfully completed if the applicant scores above the minimum competency threshold of 33 points.
