On March 10, Caucasus University hosted an arm-wrestling championship for Georgian and international students.
Before the competition began, Grigol Zurabiani, Head Coach of the Georgian National Arm-Wrestling Team and multiple European and world champion, introduced the championship rules to the participants.
The competition was held in three weight categories - 70 kg, 80 kg and 80+ kg - for both the left and right arms in each category, as well as in the absolute weight category for female participants.
In the 70 kg left-arm category, the winner was Giorgi Mishveladze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Giorgi Chikaidze, a student of the School of Architecture and Design, while third place was awarded to Luka Gokadze, a student of the School of Technology.
In the 70 kg right-arm category, the winner was Giorgi Mishvelidze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Giorgi Kartvelishvili, also a student of the School of Technology, while third place was taken by Giorgi Chikaidze, a student of the School of Architecture and Design.
In the 80 kg left-arm category, the winner was Davit Sutidze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Giorgi Tskipurishvili, a student of the School of Economics, while third place was awarded to Vakhtang Areshidze, a student of the School of Business.
In the 80 kg right-arm category, the winner was Giorgi Mishvelidze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Vakhtang Talakhadze, a student of the School of Business, while third place was taken by Davit Sutidze, a student of the School of Technology.
In the 80+ kg left-arm category, the winner was Davit Sutidze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Saba Giorgadze, a student of the School of Technology, while third place was awarded to Vakhtang Talakhadze, a student of the School of Business.
In the 80+ kg right-arm category, the winner was Saba Giorgadze, a student of the School of Technology. Second place went to Vakhtang Talakhadze, a student of the School of Business, while third place was taken by Giorgi Tskipurishvili, a student of the School of Economics.
Among the female participants, first place was awarded to Mariam Chkadua, a student of the School of Medicine.
The prize-winning participants received CU-branded gifts.
The first-place winners raised the Caucasus University Arm Wrestling Championship Challenge Cup.
