BioNova, a beneficiary startup of the Caucasus University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, continues to achieve significant success on the international stage and has once again proudly represented Georgia within the global startup ecosystem.
BioNova offers an innovative technological solution through modular biodigesters specifically designed for farms, enabling the conversion of organic waste into biogas, electricity, and high-value biofertilizer. The startup’s compact systems are built with durable, advanced materials and are equipped with an integrated IoT application, allowing users to remotely monitor system performance, production output, and economic efficiency in real time.
This solution effectively addresses contemporary challenges in both the energy and agricultural sectors, promotes efficient resource utilization, and creates opportunities for additional income generation.
Young Entrepreneur Summit (YES), Bremen
BioNova was selected to participate in the Young Entrepreneur Summit (YES) program, held in Bremen, Germany - one of the most competitive international startup platforms, where the team participated under the auspices and with the support of Caucasus University.
The program brought together over 100 startups from more than 29 countries worldwide. Through a multi-stage selection process, BioNova was first ranked among the top 36 startups globally and later advanced to the top 9 finalists. At the final stage, held on the main stage of Constructor University, BioNova secured 2nd place and received a monetary prize, further validating its technological and business potential in a highly competitive international environment.
During the four-week acceleration program, the startup worked closely with international mentors and industry experts, which significantly contributed to refining its strategy, strengthening its business model, and accelerating its development. This experience enabled BioNova to further solidify its position in the global market and laid a strong foundation for international expansion.
SET Award 2026, Berlin
BioNova also participated in the Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Award 2026, held in Berlin - one of the leading global platforms for startups operating in the cleantech and energy sectors. Among more than 80 startups selected globally, BioNova was one of the participants representing Georgia and gaining strong international recognition.
Through this program, the startup received valuable technical support, collaborated with German partners, and gained access to new international opportunities, including market expansion, strategic partnerships, and funding pathways.

BioNova was selected to participate in the Greennovation Acceleration Program, a green and digital transformation initiative supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Denmark, and implemented by PMCG. The program aims to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in advancing energy efficiency, waste management, circular economy practices, and digital transformation.
Within the 16-week acceleration cycle, BioNova receives tailored mentorship and technical support, with the program culminating in competitive funding opportunities for selected projects. Participation in Greennovation further strengthens BioNova’s position within Georgia’s sustainability ecosystem and supports the scaling of its innovation and impact.
BioNova is a beneficiary startup of Caucasus University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and the winner of the third batch of the pre-acceleration program CUnicorn.
Although the founding team initially developed the core idea independently, BioNova’s structured development as a startup and its first practical steps were taken within the framework of the university’s pre-acceleration program. The program enabled the team to validate their idea, shape their business model, and define their market entry strategy.
The startup’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Nikoloz Chikhladze, is a student at the Caucasus University School of Technology, further highlighting the university’s role in fostering innovative and globally competitive startups.
BioNova is developing a scalable and globally relevant technological solution that addresses key challenges in energy, agriculture, and sustainable development.
The startup’s achievements represent strong international validation of its technology and business model, laying a solid foundation for its positioning as a competitive global cleantech player.
Currently, BioNova is a participant in the Startupbootcamp MVP Stage Accelerator, an international acceleration program operating in Georgia. Participation in this program provides additional opportunities to strengthen its technological and business capabilities, establish international partnerships, and accelerate entry into global markets.
At the same time, the partnerships formed through international programs and integration into global innovation networks significantly enhance BioNova’s ability to expand into new markets and scale internationally.
