Official Opening of the International Staff Week

1 June 2026

On June 1, Caucasus University hosted the official opening ceremony of its 5th International Staff Week.

During the current academic year, Caucasus University is hosting the International Staff Week for the second time. The event brings together more than 40 academic and administrative representatives from 24 universities across 15 countries in Europe and Asia.

The week was officially opened with welcome remarks by the President of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia. Participants were also addressed by Ketevan Karbaia, Director of the International Relations Department, who presented the University's internationalization policy, priorities for international cooperation, and strategic plans for future development.

As part of the opening program, a workshop entitled “Georgia’s Tourism Potential - Diversity as a Competitive Advantage” was conducted by Professors Nata Robitashvili and Nino Tigishvili from the Caucasus School of Tourism.

The International Staff Week program includes a series of interactive sessions and workshops aimed at sharing Caucasus University's best practices. Discussions will focus on research development, the initiation and implementation of double-degree programs, and the effective management of university services. In addition, an educational fair will be organized for Caucasus University students, academic staff, and administrative personnel.

Throughout the week, participating academic staff members will also deliver guest lectures in collaboration with the relevant schools of the University.

It is worth noting that Caucasus University has been actively involved in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program since 2015. According to national statistics, the University ranks first among private higher education institutions in Georgia in terms of both the number of implemented mobility activities and funded projects.

The organization of International Staff Weeks has become a well-established tradition at Caucasus University. The University hosts the event twice each year—during the spring and autumn semesters-contributing to the strengthening of international partnerships and further advancing the University's internationalization process.
