On December 10, at the invitation of Manana Matiashvili, Associate Professor at Caucasus University, a public lecture was held for English Philology students as part of the courses Fundamentals of Translation Theory and Written Translation.

The lecture was delivered by Giorgi Macharashvili—a professional translator and financier, an invited lecturer at Business and Technology University (BTU), and a finalist of the SABA 2025 Literary Award in the Translation category.

The primary focus of the lecture was contemporary trends and approaches in literary translation. In addition, the discussion and interactive Q&A session that followed addressed a number of other significant and debated issues related to both the theory and practice of translation, offering students valuable professional insights and fostering critical academic dialogue.
