CAUCASUS UNIVERSITY IS THE WINNER OF THE GRANT PROJECT "INTEGRATING EU MODELS OF MEDIA LITERACY EDUCATION INTO GEORGIAN ACADEMIC SPHERE"

Caucasus School of Media, in cooperation with the School of Education, won the Jean Monnet module competition entitled "Integrating EU Models of Media Literacy Education into Georgian Academic Sphere." The author of the project is Giorgi Jologua, associate professor at Caucasus University.

 

The main aims of the project "Integrating EU Models of Media Literacy Education into Georgian Academic Sphere" are to promote EU values and promote the development of teaching and research.

 

During the project, Caucasus University students and interested beneficiaries will have the opportunity to study and deepen their knowledge of European models of integration into the formal field of media literacy. Various events are planned during the 3-year program:

 

  • Development and teaching of a new subject "European Media Literacy Models" for students at Caucasus School of Education.
  • Organizing a summer school “EU Against Disinformation" for high school students organized by Caucasus School of Media.
  • Holding monthly meetings with schoolteachers to raise awareness about European approaches and models of integrating media literacy competence into the school subject.
  • Conducting long-term research to study which European model of integrating media literacy into the academic field can be more effective in Georgia.
