Model UN Security Council Open Debate

4 November 2025

UN Women, in partnership with European University and the youth-led initiative 16th Element, hosted the Model UN Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the WPS Agenda (UNSCR 1325).

Students from the Caucasus School of Law participated in the event, where they had the opportunity to present themselves as global leaders debate one of the most critical agendas of our time.

They won top places:

  • 1st Place: Mariam Tvaladze, Caucasus School of Law
  • 2nd Place: Giorgi Ghurchumelia, Caucasus School of Law
  • 3rd Place: Tsotne Kokiashvili, Caucasus School of Law

Ahead of the debate, delegates participated in a pre-debate workshop to deepen their understanding of the WPS agenda, strengthen negotiation skills, and prepare for the complexities of Security Council procedures.

Throughout the day, delegates presented country positions, negotiated alliances, and successfully passed a new WPS resolution during a voting simulation — showcasing their leadership and vision for inclusive peacebuilding.
