On May 25, the “Valeri Telia Caucasus University Backgammon Championship” was held at Caucasus University. The President of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia, addressed the audience at the championship.

Around 100 students and staff members of Caucasus University participated in the tournament.

The winners, determined through the matches, were awarded by members of Valeri Telia’s family.

The prizes were distributed as follows:

• 1st Place – Zviad Dzidziguri

• 2nd Place – Tamar Loeveni (Caucasus Business School)

• 3rd Place – Nino Mikadze

The winner received a personalized backgammon set bearing the championship’s name, along with a traveling trophy.

All three prize winners received vouchers from CU’s bookstore “Librarea,” as well as gifts from the championship sponsors - the bags and accessories brand COSMO and Intellect Publishing.

The championship was held with the support of the Georgian Sports Backgammon Federation.
