On April 10, at 17:30, in the C18 auditorium of Caucasus University, a dialectological quiz will be conducted for the students as part of the "I love Georgian - My State Language" project. The quiz will focus on material from the Imerkhevi/Shavshuri dialect.
The quiz is designed for participants with a strong understanding that dialectological lexical units serve as a source of enrichment for the literary language. As Eter Tataraidze describes: " Dialects - flowing streams in the main river..."
Lithuanian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Andrius Kalindra, will present a gift to the three victors in the quiz, courtesy of the Group of Friends of Georgia of the Lithuanian Parliament.
Vocabulary items will be presented based on both correct and incorrect answers.
You must select the correct version.
The quiz is sourced from two references: 1. The Shavshuri dialect of the Georgian language, (See: research of Mamia Faghava, Meri Tsintsadze, and Maia Baramidze. the dictionary is attached from page 519; visit the link for the e-version of the book.) 2. A small dictionary included in the collection "In the Footsteps of Grigol Khandzteli," accessible on the Caucasus University website.
