From 15 to 18 December 2025, a delegation from Caucasus University visited Germany within the framework of its long-standing partnership with the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (TH Wildau).
The delegation was led by Kakha Shengelia, President of Caucasus University, together with Irena Melua, Vice President for Internationalization.
The visit combined academic engagement, strategic dialogue, and institutional cooperation, reflecting both universities’ shared commitment to internationalization, applied research, and knowledge transfer.
During the visit, President Shengelia and Vice President Melua held a formal meeting with the President of TH Wildau, Prof. Ulrike Tippe, to discuss the future direction of institutional cooperation. The delegation also met with representatives of the International Office and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, as well as the Faculties of Economics, Business, Computer Science, and Law.
President Shengelia also met with TH Wildau students who had visited Caucasus University in November as part of a study abroad program, accompanied by Prof. Michael Herzog. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the students’ academic and cultural experience in Tbilisi and to discuss future mobility and exchange opportunities.
In addition, the delegation visited the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research in Wildau, exploring opportunities for enhanced research collaboration and industry-linked innovation.
The Caucasus University delegation engaged extensively with each faculty and the International Relations Office in discussions aimed at strengthening academic networks and expanding cooperation beyond the Digital Logistics programs that the two institutions have been successfully offering jointly for several years.
The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between Caucasus University and TH Wildau and opened new avenues for joint teaching, dual-degree programs, research cooperation, mobility initiatives, and broader institutional development, benefiting both students and academic staff.
