BIOGRAPHY

Giorgi Muchaidze is an Associate Professor at the School of Governance of Caucasus University. He has been teaching at various universities in Georgia since 2012, including at Caucasus University since the same year.

 

He has 13 years of experience in public service. His previous positions include Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia and Chargé d’Affaires at the Georgian Permanent Mission to the OSCE and Other International Organizations in Vienna. Since 2011, Giorgi has served as Executive Director of the Atlantic Council of Georgia.

 

He actively contributed to the comprehensive reform of Georgia’s national security system between 2006 and 2009. He possesses both operational- and strategic-level management experience in security sector reform, institutional capacity building, organizational transformation, and the strengthening of democratic oversight and accountability mechanisms.

 

Giorgi holds master’s degrees from Tbilisi State University (LL.M., with honors, 1996) and the Harvard Kennedy School (M.P.A., 2011). He is the author of the Georgian Government Communication Strategy on NATO and EU Membership (2017–2020).
