Professor Tengiz Verulava's scientific paper published in an international peer-reviewed journal

27 January 2022

The International Journal of Early Childhood Special Education published an article by Caucasus University professor Tengiz Verulava titled "Online Learning of Students with Special Needs: Teachers' Perspectives".

The aim of the paper is to study the online learning challenges of students with special needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The survey showed that the majority of respondents are in favor of in person lessons because it helps to develop students' social skills. In addition, in person learning facilitates the development of motor and face-to-face communication skills due to the variety of resources available. In this regard, collaborative learning and physical contact are important for students with special educational needs. Some students do not have access to technology equipment and the Internet and have not been able to use online learning platforms. Given the increasing use of online learning technologies in education, access to them is important for students with disabilities.  The use of educational technologies should take into account the context of teaching students with disabilities and provide them with the desired environment.
