David Bakradze is an associate professor at the School of Governance of Caucasus University.
His academic career began in 2023 with a course of lectures at Caucasus University and Ilia State University. Since 2025, he has been an affiliated associate professor at the School of Governance of Caucasus University.
David Bakratze has extensive experience in the public sector. In 1997-2002 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, in 2002-2004 - in the National Security Council of Georgia. In 2004-2007, he was a Member of the Parliament of Georgia (MP), Chairman of the Committee on European Integration. In 2007 he was appointed State Minister for Conflict Resolution, in 2007-2008 he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. In 2008-2012, he held the post of Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. As a Member of Parliament from 2012 to 2020, he was the Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition. He was an independent Member of Parliament from 2020 to 2024.
David Bakradze's practical experience in international relations includes chairmanship and membership of a number of state, governmental and parliamentary delegations, regular participation in the work of international forums and international organizations. David Bakradze was the Special Envoy of the President of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, as well as a member of the State Commission for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
David Bakradze has received the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences (PhD, International Relations) from the Free University of Tbilisi (2022), and the degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematical Sciences (equivalent to a doctor) from the Georgian Technical University (1998). He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration (1996).
David Bakradze has been awarded a number of state and public decorations, including the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland - Commander's Cross (2010), the Order of Victory of St. George of Georgia (2013), the Order of the Dialogue of Cultures of the Francophonie (2011).
